Most of our children come from the city of Mogilev, Belarus and the surrounding region.  This area is just to the north of the most heavily irradiated areas from the Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster. The effect of the Chernobyl accident on the Belarussian people and their children is  uncertain. There are some things we do know—and each year we know more—but most we will learn in hindsight with the passage of years. It is our commitment to walk alongside, offering a helping hand…and hope.
